Nitro World Games 2021 postponed to 2022

Nitro World Games 2021 postponed to 2022

20/08/2021

Today, Thrill One Sports and Entertainment announced that Nitro World Games Brisbane, originally scheduled to take place at Suncorp Stadium on 23 and 24 October this year, will be postponed to the same weekend next year – 22 and 23 October 2022 - as a result of ongoing disruption from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The additional time will allow for COVID-19 mitigation efforts to take effect and live events to safely return so that this internationally-recognized competition, the biggest action sports event ever held in the Southern Hemisphere, can proceed as originally planned.

“The health, safety and comfort of our patrons, athletes and staff are of course always our top priority and for an event of this scope and size it’s paramount that we can get all our international stars here as well as making sure that the thousands of inter-state fans wanting to travel to Brisbane will have certainty in their travel arrangements.  It’s disappointing of course to have to reschedule but we’re confident that this event is going to deliver in a very big way next year and we can’t wait for the Australian public to get the chance to see it,” commented Andy Edwards, Thrill One’s President of Asia Pacific.

Edwards added, “We would also like to express our gratitude to Tourism and Events Queensland and Brisbane Economic Development Agency for their unwavering support of this event which has remained steadfast throughout these challenging times.  We really couldn’t have asked for better partners.”
