When I was a kid my favourite ice cream was the Triple Treat. You can’t buy them at your corner store anymore but I reckon Suncorp Stadium will be serving up a triple treat of its own this weekend...

It starts on Saturday night with the Wallabies-France series decider, followed by a huge NRL double-header on family-friendly Sunday afternoon.

First up is the Warriors versus Panthers, then the Broncos take on the Tigers in a season-defining match-up. Rugby fans will have been impressed with the Wallabies’ enterprise in their narrow loss to the French on Tuesday night, but errors let them down at key times.

With the series locked at 1-1, Saturday night is their final chance to pull it all together and build a solid launchpad for the rest of the season.

On Sunday afternoon the underperforming Warriors will be out to take advantage of a Panthers side struggling without its injured halves pairing and the prospect of fielding seven players backing-up from Wednesday’s tough Origin encounter.

It makes for an intriguing contest but the main attraction of the weekend will surely be the Broncos-Tigers clash.

Kevvie Walters and his men have copped plenty on and off the field this season, but their win over the Sharks at Suncorp Stadium last time out showed there is still plenty in the tank.

They meet a Tigers side that has had its own problems in recent weeks and are ripe for the plucking. If the Broncos can reproduce the form they showed against the Sharks they are looking at their first consecutive wins since rounds one and two last season.

Just as importantly, a win would give them confidence heading into the back end of the season when another three or even four games are very winnable.

I reckon all that makes this weekend’s action at Suncorp Stadium a triple treat as sweet as anything you ever got at your corner store.

What do YOU reckon?
