After almost 20 years since it’s major redevelopment, Suncorp Stadium will welcome its 20 millionth patron this weekend.

The milestone is expected to be reached during the Brisbane Broncos vs Canberra Raiders game on Easter Saturday.

Sports Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said it’s a huge milestone for Suncorp Stadium to reach the 20 million patron mark.

“It’s not only a significant milestone but also testament to the stadium’s ability to provide world-class experiences for spectators across a wide range of events."

“The success of Suncorp Stadium highlights the important role sports and entertainment plays in bringing people together and fostering community spirit.”

With two games scheduled for the upcoming Easter weekend, Suncorp Stadium General Manager Alan Graham is excited for the milestone to be reached.

“It’s appropriate that this milestone will be reached on a weekend where two of our longest running tenants are playing."

“The Queensland Reds and the Brisbane Broncos consistently draw some of the largest crowds in their respective competitions so to have them both play this weekend is of special significance.”

“We are excited that it looks like the Broncos will host our 20 millionth patron, particularly as they were also the team to host our very first patron back in 2003.”

In 2013, the venue welcomed the 10 millionth patron during a Queensland Reds event and ten years on is still averaging 1 million patrons per year.

The Brisbane Broncos have played an integral role in reaching the mark as the oldest anchor tenants at Suncorp Stadium.

Brisbane Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy said – “As Suncorp Stadiums oldest tenants, the Brisbane Broncos are honoured to play a significant role in reaching this momentous milestone of 20 million patrons expected at our upcoming fixture against the Canberra Raiders.”

“We are proud to call Suncorp Stadium our home ground and to have been a part of the venue's journey since its major redevelopment almost 20 years ago – hosting 232 games”

“It's a testament to the passion of our fans and the strength of our relationship with the stadium that we will be hosting the 20 millionth patron this weekend.”

“We look forward to many more years of successful partnership and delivering unforgettable experiences for our fans at the world-class venue we are so lucky to call home."

As Suncorp Stadium looks to the future, it remains poised to continue its impressive record of hosting world-class events, with 8 games for the highly anticipated 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup set to take place at the venue in July-August.

Alongside this landmark occasion, the stadium will continue to serve as the home of multiple prominent sporting tenants and is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Pink’s Summer Carnival Australian tour in early 2024.
