Top 10 Suncorp Stadium Concerts

We asked, you answered - Top Concert Performances at Suncorp Stadium

Ever wondered what the best concerts at Suncorp Stadium were? Well, so did we, so we asked our patrons to let us know what their best A-Z of Suncorp Performances were. While - as you can image - we received a HUGE response for footy players, Premiership victories and boxing matches, we also had an OVERWHELMING response for concerts!

The response was so big, we thought we should put together a TOP 10 Suncorp Stadium Concert list!

While we have the top 10 below, there were so many more we could have included. When you consider that the likes of Robbie Williams, KISS, Eminem, The Police and Taylor Swift didn’t make the cut, you know the list must be good!

Check out the Top 10 below!

Number 10. André Rieu

While we don’t have much footage from the André Rieu concert in 2009, we did find this rendition of Advance Australia Fair with a little kids classic attached to the end!

Still one of the best performers to have graced the field at Suncorp Stadium, we would love to have him and the entire orchestra back again! Check out the second clip showing the scale of the world's largest stage constucted for the 'World Stadium' tour.

Number 9. Jay-Z

Jay-Z is one of the greatest rappers of all time with a legacy of building an empire and performing across a variety of generations.

Touring with U2 in 2010 created one of the most sort after concert events in the Stadium’s history and proved to be a performance not to be missed! Check out his Numb/Encore clip from the show, below.

Number 8. Phil Collins

With a slew of hits spanning decades, the former Genesis member Phil Collins has been providing crowds all over the world with hits to sing along with for a long time.

Performing classics like “Invisible Touch” and “In the Air Tonight” during his Not Dead Yet 2019 Tour - the crowds definitely were involved!

Number 7. Bon Jovi

What other word is there to describe Bon Jovi other than, performer. Bon Jovi still gets entire Stadium crowds singing along with his hits like It’s My Life during his ‘Because we Can’ tour. Not many can make an entire Stadium come alive like JBJ!

Number 6. Paul McCartney

One of the Beatles at Suncorp Stadium? It happened!

Those who were lucky enough to get a ticket to see Sir Paul, thought he was one of the best they had ever seen in person! Sir Paul McCartney performed at Suncorp Stadium as part of his ‘One on One’ tour and he definitely still has it!

Check out his version of Get Back and tell me you don't wish you were there!

Number 5. U2

Seeing U2 in 2019 v 2010? I don’t think anyone really minded which one they got along too - many even went to both!

The ‘Joshua Tree’ World Tour stopped in at Suncorp Stadium in 2019 while the 2010 ‘360 Degree’ tour with Jay-Z had Brisbane lining up for a ticket.

Always mixing it up for their performances, check out this little bit of Bowie as an intro before they launched into their hit Beautiful Day!

Number 4. Coldplay

Another Brisbane favourite. Coldplay have performed a few times in the River city now. Two Stadium concerts at Suncorp in 2012 and again in 2016 had the crowd going wild.

Check out the response from the crowd below in 2012 for their 'Mylo Xyloto' tour.

Number 3. Ed Sheeran

When Britain's favourite (and Brisbane apparently) Ed Sheeran stopped in at Suncorp Stadium for two nights in March 2018 for his 'Divide' tour, who knew he would have such an impact!

One way to get the local crowd going is to bring up a local on stage. Checkout Missy Higgins singing Perfect with Ed Sheeran below!

Number 2. Foo Fighters

Footy and Foo Fighters was a common response from a number of our patrons. I guess the sounds of this rock band strike a cord with our footy fans as they came in number 2 in our list.

Whether it was the 2018 Concrete and Gold tour or their 2015 Sonic Highway Tour, the Brisbane fans loved having them here. Checkout the Foo Fighters playing Everlong and All My Life in 2018.

Number 1. Queen + Adam Lambert

Who would have guessed? The number one in our list by a HUGE margin was the Rhapsody Tour featuring Queen & Adam Lambert. Call it recency bias, but when there is a torrential downpour the night of the concert and fans are still raving about it months later, it must have been one great concert!

The audience was treated to all of the hits on the night including Crazy Little Thing Called Love (from under an umbrella), Radio Gaga and Led Zeppelin and Elvis covers. No wonder this made it to number one on our list!

One thing is for certain, whenever they're ready to come back, we're ready to have them back again!

Do you think we got it right? Who would you like to see come back to Suncorp Stadium or come for the first time? Let us know on Facebook or Instagram!

Oh, and while you're here - we had a bonus entry recently with Brisbane band Violent SoHo live streaming a concert from the Stadium while our very own Mal mowed the lawn. Want to check it out?
