Suncorp Stadium has celebrated a significant milestone this weekend with the 25 millionth patron walking through the gates during the NRL Magic Round.
The magic milestone number is almost 5 times the population of Queensland with countless memories having been made at the iconic venue.
Since the venue’s redevelopment in 2003, the venue has hosted more than 950 events including over 480 Rugby League games, 200 Rugby Union games, 260 Soccer games and 53 concerts.
The four main tenants the Brisbane Broncos, Brisbane Roar, Dolphins & the Queensland Reds combined with State of Origin clashes have contributed to more than 2 thirds of the total number.
Recently, global acts like Metallica, Lady Gaga, ACDC, Ed Sheeran and The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo have made stops at the iconic venue which has also hosted Nitro World Games, EPL matches, Boxing events and multiple world cups – with 10 matches also locked in next year for the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027.
Sir Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, U2, Bon Jovi, Sir Elton John, Eminem, Coldplay, Phil Collins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pink, Luke Combs, One Direction, Justin Bieber, Queen, Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Travis Scott and André Rieu are other names who have performed at the Stadium with Robbie Williams, Foo Fighters and Guns N’ Roses all set to return later this year.
Meanwhile, the NRL Magic Round has contributed almost 1 million patrons alone showing the success and love for the Brisbane event.
The 4-day event, including Women’s State of Origin, epitomises the Suncorp Stadium experience with patrons overflowing into the surrounding entertainment precincts before and after games across the weekend.
More blockbuster events are coming up at Suncorp Stadium with tickets still available for Men’s State of Origin Game 3, the Wallabies v France Test Match and Rugby League World Cup Finals.
