There is a new reason to arrive early at Suncorp Stadium this Origin - the 'Queenslander' tribute has officially launched, celebrating the 1,225 players who have helped shape Queensland Rugby League.
From Origin greats to trailblazers dating back to 1908, this permanent installation honours the legends who built the famous Queenslander spirit.
"Representing your state is no small achievement," said Minister for Sport Tim Mander. "It's fitting we now have a place to celebrate all our Queensland footy greats together."

Suncorp Stadium General Manager Alan Graham said the venue has been the stage for Queensland rugby league stars for decades.
“Having this legacy on show for all our patrons and visitors adds to the history of the Stadium and allows fans to soak up all that makes Origin and the Queenslander spirit so special,” Mr Graham said.

The tribute includes 274 Origin start, plus hundreds of male and female reps who played before Origin even began. And each year, at least 7 new names will be added after every Origin series.
Former Origin Greats Board Member and Queensland Representative Karyn Murphy said having the women alongside the men shows the strides occurring in the game.
“Our women have a rich history contributing to the Queenslander spirit and having this tribute helps inspire the next generation,” Ms Murphy said.

Queensland Rugby League CEO Ben Ikin added:
"It's fantastic to have a physical acknowledgement of the men and women who've shaped our game."

The Stadium acknowledges the work done by Trevor Bow and his venue Operations team as well as Populous for designing the tribute and CV Media & Signage and InBrandigo for the fast turnaround, as well as the input from the Queensland Rugby League and their History Committee, the Former Origin Greats (FOGs) and the NRL in bringing the history to life.
Come see it for yourself and feel the pride. Once a Queenslanders, always a Queenslander!
