Suncorp Stadium gearing up for another huge footy season

Suncorp Stadium is gearing up for another huge footy season with a staff recruitment drive and a host of venue projects before kick-off.

The Queensland Reds began their home-stand for Super Rugby on February 21st with a big win against Moana Pasifika.

The Dolphins and Brisbane Broncos have their first home game for the NRL season on March 7 and March 21 respectively.

The Stadium is looking for more than 100 new staff ahead of a huge year that includes NRL Magic Round, Mens & Womens State of Origin Game 1, British & Irish Lions Test and Tour Game, the remainder of the Brisbane Roar 2024/25 season and a Metallica concert.

Positions that are available include:

  • Turnstile assistants
  • Ushers
  • Cleaners
  • Corporate ushers
  • Lift operators
  • Carpark attendants and more

General Manager Alan Graham said major projects and the staff recruitment drive are fit in before the event schedule really kicks into gear.

Out team are flat out making sure the place is in tip-top shape with the start of the footy season looming,” he said.

Some of the major projects underway include the replacement of 6000 seats in the grandstand and additional corporate lift being installed.

Other works include waterproofing and stair maintenance, steel work restoration and cleaning, concrete resurfacing a freezer maintenance.

This is in addition to annual storm water filter cleaning and pumping, pressure washing and ongoing field fertilizing and maintenance.

Mr Graham said that keeping the Stadium in world class shape is a full-time job and so pleased to say we have done that for the past 22 years.

2025 is going to be one of Suncorp Stadium’s biggest years yet and we can’t wait to give our patrons the best possible experience,” he said.

Already the Stadium has hosted over 93,000 fans at two sold-out Luke Combs concerts and 3 Brisbane Roar home games.

The first Queensland Reds home game of the season begins a frantic few months which includes a Dolphins-Bennett showdown, a XXXX Queensland Derby between the Broncos and Cowboys, ANZAC rounds, Womens State of Origin, NRL Magic Round, Mens State of Origin and the British & Irish Lions Tour.

Later in the year, a Metallica concert is already locked in for Wednesday 12 November.
