The Suncorp Stadium team has won the Event of the Year Award in TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2026 for its historic delivery of four consecutive nights of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Focusing on the global stadium and venue sector, the Event of the Year award specifically recognises the event’s host venue and the venue’s management and operational team’s delivery of the event.
The award win highlights how strong Brisbane’s event ecosystem is through the partnership of Legends Global and the Tattoo, TEG Live and The Entertainment Lab, Stadiums Queensland, Tourism and Event Queensland and Brisbane Economic Development Agency.
Suncorp Stadium General Manager Darren Burden said he was incredibly proud of the award which reflected the amount of work his team put into the event.
“Suncorp Stadium is the hardest working Stadium in the country and being recognised for the Event of the Year in such a competitive category shows what an incredible team we have here,” he said.
“The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo was a tremendous success and the agility and innovation shown by the venue team was immense especially delivering the event in the midst of such a busy event calendar.”

The award comes the same week Billboard released its Midyear global rankings with Suncorp Stadium in the Top Ten Stadiums worldwide for concert attendance highlighting the amount of content being secured by the venue.
Other finalists in the category included the US Open 2025 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre, Oasis Live ’25 at Principality Stadium in Wales, and NFL Games in Spain and Ireland.
The winners were announced during TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2026, taking place in Manchester on Wednesday 3 June as part of TheStadiumBusiness Summit 2026.
