Suncorp Stadium has set a unique record over the weekend welcoming 1 million patrons through the gates already in 2026.
With 1,035,753 patrons through the gates after two blockbuster NRL matches on the weekend, the venue has hit the million visitors mark quicker than ever before reaching the milestone within 6 months.
Multi-day events like the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Ed Sheeran concerts and the NRL Magic Round have boosted numbers alongside double, triple and quadruple header weekends which are becoming the norm for the iconic venue.
Suncorp Stadium General Manager Darren Burden said it has already been a huge year but that there is still more to come.
“Suncorp Stadium is the hardest working Stadium in Australia and hosting 1 million patrons in the first 6 months is an incredible achievement.”
“With an Origin decider, Wallabies v France, Socceroos v Brazil, Rugby League World Cup and concert season still to come we are shaping up to have our biggest year yet.”
The news comes after the Stadium recently reached Top 10 in both Billboard and Pollstar’s Global Stadium midyear concert rankings which consider revenue and attendance globally.
Just last month during NRL Magic Round, Suncorp Stadium welcomed its 25 millionth patron since the venue opened in 2003 following redevelopment.
July isn’t slowing down with a Brisbane Broncos Double Header next weekend kicking off a big 7 days which also includes a State of Origin Decider and the Wallabies taking on France in the Nations Championship.
