We hosted our final NRL game of the year with the Pacific Championships taking place on Friday 18th October.

This thrilling double-header event saw the Jillaroos achieve a remarkable 84-0 victory over the PNG Orchids, showcasing the strength and prowess of Australian women's rugby league. Following the Jillaroos’ triumph, the Kangaroos continued the night’s excitement with a strong 18-0 win against Tonga XIII.

Just a week later, on Saturday, October 26th, Suncorp Stadium was transformed into a world-class concert venue for the final stop of Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus Tour in Australia.

Upcoming Events

Preparations were underway this month for the beginning of Brisbane Roar’s 2024/25 Season with the first game set for November 1st, and the highly anticipated return of the Matildas for a game against Brazil on Thursday 28th November. The match is set to be a celebration of women’s football, and with the recent success of the Matildas on the global stage, anticipation is at an all-time high.

This month also saw the announcement that American heavy metal band Metallica will be heading to Suncorp Stadium in November 2025.

The record-breaking M72 World Tour is a massive production featuring an impressive lineup, including special guests Evanescence and Suicidal Tendencies. This promises to be a monumental event for Brisbane, drawing fans from near and far for an unforgettable night of iconic heavy metal.

Community and Charity Initiatives

October was the month of our Suncorp Stadium Charity Golf Day which aims to raise money for Hear and Say. Along with supporting this amazing cause, the event also introduced another charity partner, Real & Diverse Theatre Group (RAD).

The annual event saw teams take to the scenic Hope Island Golf Course for a day of golfing fun in the sun. Following the day on the course, participants enjoyed a dinner with an auction featuring exclusive items and experiences, all in support of these impactful causes. This event, which marks the 14th year of our charity initiatives, achieved an impressive fundraising milestone, thanks to the generosity of all involved. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come, supporting these organisations that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Internal Works and Improvements

As you may be able to tell, this month we launched an upgraded version of the Suncorp Stadium website! The new site went live on October 31st, after months of planning and hard work behind the scenes by staff. Designed with our visitors in mind, the updated website features enhanced visuals, a more user-friendly interface, and an improved seating map, along with many other new elements.
